Isolation and loneliness are the two dangerous states that can make your life tiresome.
It is said that people aged above 50, have very few friends and they hardly speak to anyone including family members.
Because the family doesn’t have time to waste talking to elderly people. Thus, Age UK, the registered charity organisation in the United Kingdom started an initiation of gathering people above the age of 50 for small meetings.
This initiation was a huge success in Cranleigh, Staines and Guildford before it came to Farnham, Surrey.
Cafe Culture began in Farnham on 09 May 2018, and now its been going on successfully for almost two years.
In Farnham, the meetings are held at The Plough Public House, 74 West Street, Farnham, GU9 7EZ, every Wednesdays from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
It’s a great chance for the elder people to just get out of their home, meet new people of their own age, get acquainted and enjoy the good evening on a weekly basis.
Anyone who is above the age of 50 can come up, there are no registration fees. They can come alone or have a caretaker or family members who wish to be involved in the conversations.
They can drink, play games, listen to music, start interesting conversations and much more.
There will be Age UK volunteers and staff members who are ready to help the new members start off with the already attending members of the group.
This program is a great solace to the people who don't have family or friends, and for those who have family and friends, but often get ignored by them.
To reach The Plough Public House for the weekly gatherings you can use taxi services in Farnham, they would reach you at the destination safely and securely. Even after the meeting, you can book Farnham taxis, they would pick you and reach you home.
So, you don't even have to depend on your family members any more. Book your taxi and you are on your way.
